Job Summary: The Simulation Technician provides technical support to students, staff, faculty and other educators within the simulation environment. Manages simulation recordings and oversee scheduled maintenance. Support compliance with FERPA, SSH Accreditation and Standards, and campus policies and procedures. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience: Associate's Degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field required or an additional four years experience required in lieu of degree.  Bachelor's Degree preferred.  Minimum one year experience in simulation required.

Knowledge and Skills: Must be familiar with and understand simulation based learning methodology.  Audio or Visual knowledge; basic electromechanical knowledge; pneumatic functions of equipment and devised; anatomy and physiology; advance computer skills MAC and PC, i.e., hardware, computer networking, internet research, simulator software; video capture and editing; general lab safety; inventory management; medical terminology and abbreviations.  Able to read, write legibly and speak English with professional quality; use computer, printer and software programs necessary to the position, i.e., understand basic object oriented programming, knowledge of linear/nonlinear audio/video editing, operator/troubleshoot and calibrate simulators and basic office equipment required for the job; able to perform or become familiar with basic patient procedures.  Must be able to communicate effectively at a professional level in writing, on the telephone, one-on-one and with large or small group; must demonstrate confidentiality, conflict management and critical thinking; cultural sensitivity to diverse population; excellent customer service; problem solving; time management.   Advanced planning and organizational skills, critical thinking, setting priorities, decisive decision making;  Sight, touch, hearing and smell intact.  Able to identify color-coded electrical/mechanical components, able to distinguish colors; able to read computer screens and written documents.  Able to identify and distinguish various sounds associated with mechanical equipment; able to distinguish temperature variations through touch, vibration sensation intact; able to distinguish various odors characteristic of equipment malfunction.

Licensures and Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor certification issued by the American Heart Association required for School of Medicine applicants only.
