Job Summary: The Supervisor-RICA Educational Advocacy-Grant provides advanced leadership and strategic coordination for school-based programming initiatives while functioning as a senior direct service member of the Enhanced Care Management (ECM) team serving children, adolescents, and families through Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital (LLUCH), CAC/RICA programs, and affiliated community partnerships. This position supports program implementation, workflow coordination, staff guidance, student engagement initiatives, multidisciplinary collaboration, and program compliance while assisting in the advancement of departmental goals, quality improvement efforts, and organizational initiatives. The role works directly with youth and families in school, clinic, home, and community settings utilizing trauma-informed approaches to identify and address social determinants of health (SDOH), including barriers related to housing instability, food insecurity, transportation, healthcare access, behavioral health, educational engagement, and family support systems. The RICA EA Supervisor collaborates closely with healthcare providers, school personnel, behavioral health teams, community agencies, and departmental leadership to support individualized care plans, improve student and family outcomes, coordinate complex service linkage and transitions of care, support staff workflows and program operations, and maintain compliance with Medi-Cal standards, IEHP requirements, organizational policies, and documentation expectations within EPIC, IEHP platforms, and other required systems. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, Counseling, Human Services, Communication, or related field. Master’s Degree preferred. Minimum five years’ experience working with youth, families, healthcare, behavioral health, school-based programming, care coordination, or community- based services required. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or alternative schedules to support programming is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Advanced Knowledge of Enhanced Care Management, patient advocacy models, and whole-person care approaches. Familiarity with Medi-Cal, IEHP, HIPPA, FERPA, mandated reporting, and confidentiality requirements. Knowledge of school-based programming, youth development principles, and community partnership coordination. Read, write legibly, and speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
Licensures and Certifications: Valid Driver’s License required.
