Pride in Place Lead
£49,056 - £52,194 per annum
18 months Fixed Term
Newham Council is committed to putting residents at the heart of shaping their communities. The Pride in Place Programme represents a significant opportunity for local people in Little Ilford to influence investment and decision-making in their neighbourhood, with £20 million of government funding available over a ten-year period. At the core of the programme is a commitment to community leadership, partnership working and ensuring residents remain at the centre of decisions that affect their lives and local area.
We are seeking a Pride in Place Lead to coordinate the delivery of this ambitious programme and support the Little Ilford Neighbourhood Board in turning community priorities into tangible projects and outcomes. Working closely with residents, community organisations, elected members, Council services and external partners, the postholder will play a central role in driving the programme forward and ensuring it meets its long-term ambitions.
The role will lead on programme management, governance, community engagement, stakeholder relationships and reporting, ensuring projects are delivered effectively, funding requirements are met and robust oversight is maintained. You will facilitate the operation of the Neighbourhood Board, coordinate engagement activity, support project development and work across multiple partners to ensure successful delivery of the Neighbourhood Plan and associated programmes.
You will be responsible for building trusted relationships across the community, creating meaningful opportunities for participation and ensuring local voices continue to shape decisions throughout the life of the programme. The role requires strong programme management skills, excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, and a passion for enabling communities to influence the future of their neighbourhoods.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-profile, resident-led programme that will deliver long-term benefits for Little Ilford and contribute to Newham's wider commitment to resident participation, co-production and community empowerment.
