As an Electrical QCx Engineer, you will be responsible for executing and maintaining electrical quality assurance and quality control activities on a semiconductor construction project. This role ensures that all electrical installations are compliant with client specifications, industry standards, and project requirements prior to energization and commissioning. You will work closely with construction, commissioning, and EHS teams to verify quality, support testing activities, and ensure successful system turnover in a mission-critical environment.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Maintain and implement the project-specific Electrical QA/QC plan in alignment with client specifications, IEC/IEEE standards, NFPA 70 (NEC), and local codes
- →Review design drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, and electrical submittals for compliance prior to installation
- →Develop, manage, and execute Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for MV/LV electrical systems including switchgear, UPS, generators, PDUs, busways, grounding, lighting, fire alarm, and BMS interfaces
- →Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of electrical installations including cable containment, cabling, terminations, labeling, and equipment installation
- →Coordinate and support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for critical electrical systems
- →Oversee field testing activities including insulation resistance, continuity, hipot testing, torque verification, and ground system integrity
- →Verify material deliveries, storage conditions, and traceability against approved submittals and specifications
- →Raise, track, and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), ensuring corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented
- →Maintain accurate QA/QC documentation, inspection records, and turnover dossiers for client handover and regulatory compliance
- →Work closely with construction, commissioning, and EHS teams to resolve field quality issues and support punch list closure
- →Ensure all test instruments and tools are calibrated and certification records are maintained
- →Participate in quality meetings, progress reviews, and project audits
- →Support commissioning activities including pre-functional checklists, redline drawing validation, and energization walkdowns
- →Assist in compiling O&M manuals, as-built documentation, and project closeout deliverables
- →Support internal and external quality audits in alignment with ISO 9001 requirements
- →Deliver toolbox talks and support training for subcontractors on quality standards and best practices
- Strong knowledge of electrical construction and commissioning processes in mission-critical environments
- Experience in semiconductor, data center, or other advanced manufacturing environments preferred
- Ability to interpret and review electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Strong understanding of electrical systems including MV/LV switchgear, UPS systems, generators, PDUs, busways, grounding systems, and BMS interfaces
- Hands-on experience with electrical testing methodologies and field verification processes
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage inspections, documentation, and quality workflows simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills with ability to coordinate across multiple trades and stakeholders
- Ability to identify, document, and resolve non-conformance issues in the field
- Proficiency in QA/QC documentation systems, ITPs, and turnover processes
- Journeyman Electrical License or Electrical Craft Certification required (or equivalent field experience)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline preferred but not required
- OSHA 10 Certification required
- NFPA 70E Certification required
- Additional QA/QC or commissioning certifications are a plus
