Job Summary

The project superintendent is responsible for overseeing the entire operation of the construction site. This individual should be experienced in communicating project milestones with clients and other parties, and be able to establish a timeline for completion. Superintendents work closely with subcontractors, suppliers, employees, and the project manager to ensure the project remains on track.


Essential Job Functions

  • Oversee daily operation of construction projects
  • Ensure safety, compliance and quality regulations are followed
  • Communicate project progress with clients and project managers
  • Manage subcontractors and construction site organization and scheduling 
  • Effectively manage a crew of carpenters and laborers
  • Submission of daily job logs and time records
  • Requires regular and prompt attendance plus the ability to work well with others and work well as a team
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Attends monthly safety trainings / meetings
  • Maintenance of company provided vehicles and project equipment
  • Weekly submission of credit card receipts and invoices


Qualifications

  • GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Compliance with drug testing program
  • Minimum of five years experience in related field
  • Ability to pass child abuse, FBI, and state police background checks


Licenses and Certifications

  • OSHA 30 (Must be obtained within 60-days of hire)


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read construction blueprints
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
  • General knowledge in all areas of construction including MEPs
  • Hands on experience with drywall, carpentry, plumbing, light electrical, etc.
  • Building maintenance experience
  • Ability to run equipment
  • Ability to use hand and motorized tools
  • Ability to perform strenuous manual labor
