At Magnolia, the General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Magnolia Table restaurant. This role maintains revenue, promotes efficiency and cleanliness, ensures the highest quality food is served, and helps with future menu item planning. This position works from Magnolia Table in Waco, Texas. It reports to the Director of Hospitality and has supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • →Provide input and insight into strategic plans and financial direction and monthly budget tracking
  • →Provide weekly tracking updates on financials to Food Leadership*
  • →Develop managers and staff for future growth opportunities, including training and developing restaurant leaders*
  • →Ensure a high level of guest care, in line with the Magnolia brand
  • →Coordinate with front-of-house, back-of-house, and retail operations
  • →Promote and maintain a safe working environment
  • →Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste*
  • →Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations*
  • →Partner with the food operations team for new menu item rollout and training
  • →Ensure seasonal deployment of R&D food and beverage training for Table leadership
  • →Support Table during caterings, events, etc.
  • →Advocate and partner for additional retail item newness
  • →Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations
  • →Drive revenue to support Magnolia Table unit goals*
  • →Perform other duties as assigned

Interact with various stakeholders including executives and external stakeholders and utilize strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly, concisely, and accurately, convey ideas, expectations, and feedback.
  • Guest Focus: Establish and uphold a culture of exceptional guest engagement and service, setting a standard through exemplary leadership.
  • Strategy and Goal Setting: Approach change with positivity and curiosity, leading through ambiguity. Break down team goals into daily or weekly goals, establish metrics, and communicate what actions employees must take to contribute to achieving these goals.
  • Hard skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university preferred
  • 1-2+ years of related work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • 3+ years of managerial experience preferred
  • Must be available to work weekends, events, and holidays as business needs require

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit; use hands and arms to reach, handle, feel; utilize fine motor dexterity of fingers; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is expected to utilize team lifting techniques when lifting bulky items or items weighing above 50 pounds and up to 120 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is subject to high temperatures and low temperatures. The employee is exposed to workplace hazards.
