Mammoth Distribution is one of California's leading cannabis distributors and manufacturers, delivering top brands like Heavy Hitters, Papa & Barkley, and Almora Farms. We're hiring a full-time HR Generalist to be the frontline human resources partner for our Operations workforce — Production, Manufacturing, Facilities, Lab, Quality Control, and Inventory. Reporting to our Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), you'll handle employee relations and workplace investigations, keep HR administration and HRIS records accurate, lead internal communications and employee engagement programs, and build the HR reporting our leadership relies on.

Located in North Hollywood, convenient to Burbank, Van Nuys, Glendale, Studio City, and the greater San Fernando Valley. If you're an HR professional who is calm, approachable, and at home on a production floor, we'd like to hear from you.

What You'll Do
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations concerns across our Operations divisions — listen, triage, and document every matter
  • Plan and conduct workplace investigations: interview employees and witnesses, gather evidence, and write clear findings and recommendations
  • Escalate complex matters and anything with potential legal exposure (protected-class claims, retaliation, leave and accommodation, wage and hour) to the CHRO the same business day
  • Support coaching conversations and mediations — prepare materials, take notes, and follow up on agreed actions
  • Maintain the ER case log and supporting documentation for every Operations employee relations matter
  • Manage HR administration: scheduling, e-filing, personnel file maintenance, and HRIS data entry
  • Track write-ups (corrective action) and performance reviews, and follow up with managers to keep them current
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding paperwork, and provide backup support for Payroll, Benefits, and Recruiting
  • Plan and execute companywide culture initiatives, employee engagement events, and recognition programs (e.g., Culture All-Star nominations), including logistics and budget tracking
  • Write, edit, and distribute the monthly employee newsletter (email, Slack, and print); administer HR Slack channels and maintain the company intranet
  • Prepare and deliver HR announcements at Production and tailgate meetings
  • Build and maintain HR reports and dashboards — headcount, turnover, training completion, and ER trends — and deliver a monthly people-metrics package to the CHRO
What You'll Bring
  • 2–4 years of Human Resources experience, including hands-on employee relations work
  • Experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or distribution environment preferred; cannabis industry experience a plus
  • Experience conducting or supporting workplace investigations, with strong interviewing and documentation skills
  • Working knowledge of federal and California employment law (Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, FEHA, CFRA) — enough to recognize when a matter needs escalation
  • A calm, neutral, and approachable presence with frontline employees and supervisors
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills — calendar management, meeting notes, interview documentation, and digital filing
  • Excellent written communication skills and confidence presenting to large groups, including production floor audiences
  • Solid data and reporting skills in Excel and HRIS reporting tools
  • Event coordination and budget tracking experience
  • Comfort administering Slack or similar collaboration tools
  • Sound judgment and discretion with confidential and sensitive information
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and consistent with follow-through
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification a plus
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work across office, production, and warehouse environments, with frequent floor presence and significant temperature variation
  • Frequent computer use for extended periods (8+ hours)
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, including standing to present at Production meetings
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move files, boxes, and event materials up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and in group settings
Compensation & Benefits
  • $75,000–$85,000/year, depending on experience
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance — eligible after 60 days
  • Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule, on-site in North Hollywood, CA
  • Direct partnership with the CHRO and visibility across the entire organization
Also relevant if you have experience as: HR Generalist, Human Resources Generalist, Employee Relations Specialist, HR Specialist, HR Coordinator, People Operations Generalist, HR Business Partner, Employee Engagement Coordinator, or Workplace Investigator.
