Manhattan Gastroenterology is a 14-physician gastroenterology practice with offices in Manhattan and Brooklyn, a Joint Commission–accredited ambulatory surgery center (ASC), an in-house pathology laboratory and an infusion program. We are hiring an experienced healthcare CFO to lead our finances as we grow.

The CFO leads all financial operations across the practice, ambulatory surgery center, pathology laboratory and infusion program. This is a hands-on, strategic role: the CFO owns planning, reporting, revenue cycle and financial controls, and works closely with leadership on growth, including new sites, service lines and acquisitions.

  • Lead all financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting across the organization.

  • Analyze financial and operational data to support growth, efficiency and informed decision-making, including profitability by site, physician and service line.

  • Partner with the Chief Operating Officer and practice leadership to build and execute strategic and financial plans, including budgets, staffing and productivity targets, and support practice expansion, new service lines, mergers and acquisitions.

  • Identify and lead cost-reduction opportunities across staffing, supplies, vendors and contracts without compromising patient care.

  • Find and capture new revenue: payer rate improvements, coding and charge capture, underpaid claims, and growth in ASC, pathology and infusion services.

  • Set savings and revenue targets with leadership, track results monthly and report progress clearly.

  • Oversee the revenue cycle, including front-end, back-end and outsourced billing, to maximize collections and reduce denials.

  • Monitor payer contracts and reimbursement for professional, ASC, pathology and infusion services, and support payer negotiations.

  • Track key revenue cycle metrics such as days in A/R, denial rates and net collection rate, and drive improvement.

  • Oversee accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll and fixed assets.

  • Establish and maintain financial policies, internal controls and standards that ensure accurate, consistent financial information.

  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.

  • Manage cash flow and financial risk, and identify risks and opportunities with strategies to address them.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and city financial and healthcare regulations, including Medicare, Medicaid and New York State Department of Health requirements.

  • Work with external auditors and tax advisors on annual audits, financial statements and tax filings.

  • Manage relationships with banks, auditors, insurers and other financial partners.

  • Build, mentor and lead a high-performing finance, accounting and billing team; set department goals and track performance.
