Manifold is the AI platform for life sciences, accelerating life-changing medicines to patients. Our products speed up workflows in areas from target identification and clinical development to market access and precision medicine in the clinic, while maintaining the governance life sciences requires. Global companies and premier research institutions use Manifold to operate faster and more effectively. Backed by leading investors including Reach Capital, TQ Ventures, Calibrate Ventures, SilverArc Capital, and Industry Ventures, Manifold serves tens of thousands of users across hundreds of organizations globally.

Manifold is building the AI-native workspace for the world's biomedical data. Our customers are the companies and institutes that discover and deliver medicines to patients. When their scientists spend a week wrangling data instead of thinking, patients wait. We want to give that week back, at scale, across the industry.

Our customers today include data providers and health systems, the organizations that generate and steward multimodal data (genomic, imaging, clinical, real world data) and license or supply it into research use. As these relationships have grown, so has their scope and complexity, and we're building a dedicated Strategic Account Management function to own that complexity end to end.

About the Role

~1 min read

The Manager, Strategic Accounts will own the relationship spectrum from post-implementation adoption through renewal and expansion for a portfolio of Manifold's most important accounts. Those relationships include the operational stakeholders running day-to-day data operations to the executive leaders who decide whether the partnership expands. You are the operational and commercial owner of the accounts in your book, accountable for renewals, upsells, cross-sells, and expansion revenue, and you provide the personalized, high-touch partnership that keeps each relationship healthy.

This is a critical role in our Strategic Account Management function. You'll work directly with senior stakeholders like a health system's chief data officer or a data provider's commercialization lead, with enough fluency in the science and data economics to navigate a commercialization deal or research use case on your own. This role reports into our VP, Strategic Account Management.

Responsibilities

  • →Serve as a trusted advisor to your customers, deeply understanding their business and scientific priorities and translating that understanding into how Manifold delivers value across the relationship.
  • →Own Manifold's relationship with each account in your portfolio, accountable for customer health, satisfaction, retention, and growth.
  • →Be the operational engine of each partnership: running regular business reviews, maintaining real-time shared visibility with customer stakeholders, and building multi-threaded relationships that extend beyond a single champion.
  • →Proactively identify and capture expansion opportunities across new datasets, new business units, and new use cases, spotting them before the customer raises them.
  • →Build and maintain a living account plan for every strategic account, developing a clear growth thesis for each one: expansion whitespace, stakeholder strategy, competitive dynamics, and risk, and structuring the commercial terms for renewals and expansions in partnership with Legal and Finance.
  • →Own the coordination model and internal rhythm across Manifold's account team for each relationship, working hand-in-hand with teams like Product, Professional Services, and Legal.
  • →Manage the handoff from Sales at go-live, capturing what was promised and who the real buyer was so nothing is lost in the transition.
  • →Partner with technical teams to understand how the platform is used for R&D workflows across genomics, digital pathology, and real world data, well enough to spot expansion opportunities independently.
  • →Own portfolio status, relationship health tracking, and be accountable for surfacing risk before it becomes a problem.
  • 5+ years managing strategic account relationships with revenue or retention accountability, partnering directly with senior stakeholders and navigating competing priorities across functions, ideally selling to health systems or data providers in life sciences and healthcare.
  • A working understanding of multimodal data (genomic, imaging, clinical, real world data) and how it's used in biopharma R&D, so you can speak to why your customer's data matters to the researchers who ultimately use it.
  • A track record of owning both relationship health and commercial outcomes on an account, not just one or the other.
  • Strong listening and diagnostic skills: the ability to quickly and accurately identify a customer's real problem and mobilize the right internal resources to solve it, quickly and effectively.
  • Experience independently structuring and negotiating contract terms, including partnering with Legal and Finance.
  • Excellent relationship management and executive-level communication skills, including the judgment to know what to escalate versus resolve independently.
  • A customer-first mindset with a track record of partnering directly with customers or end users to shape solutions.
  • An advanced degree in life sciences, genomics, or a related scientific/technical field, or comparable experience that earns scientific credibility with PhD-level stakeholders.
  • The opportunity to work at the frontier of AI in life sciences, helping the world's leading research and clinical institutions adopt transformative technology.
  • A high-autonomy, high-impact role where your work directly leads to positive customer outcomes and company growth.
  • Exposure to a wide range of technical and business challenges across oncology, genomics, and clinical data.
  • A collaborative team of engineers, scientists, and operators who are building something genuinely important.
  • Competitive compensation and equity in a high-growth company backed by leading investors.

The base salary range for this position is $140,000–$180,000 annually.

  • Please note: Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience and expertise, and may vary from the amount above. This range does not represent additional compensation benefits (such as equity, 401K match or medical, dental or vision insurance).
