The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and developing a high-performing engineering organization that delivers, supports, and continuously improves automation solutions that drive business value across the enterprise.
The role is accountable for building organizational capability through effective talent management, coaching, workforce planning, succession planning, and leadership development. The Engineering Manager fosters a culture of accountability, ownership, engineering excellence, collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation while ensuring the successful delivery and operational stability of automation solutions.
Working closely with business stakeholders, product, architecture, agile, and support partners, the Engineering Manager enables the identification, development, deployment, and continuous improvement of automation capabilities. The role also helps prepare the organization for emerging technologies and evolving automation practices, including intelligent automation and AI-enabled solutions.
Responsibilities

- Develop and empower leaders through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development, building leadership capability and a strong talent pipeline across the organization.
- Lead workforce planning, succession planning, organizational design, talent acquisition, and performance management practices to ensure the organization has the capabilities required to meet current and future business needs.
- Foster a culture of outcome ownership by establishing clear performance expectations, recognizing strong performance, and enabling teams to successfully deliver business outcomes.
- Drive engineering excellence by defining, implementing, and continuously improving engineering standards, development practices, quality controls, and governance processes across the automation engineering organization.
- Promote technical accountability and continuous improvement through peer reviews, engineering governance, knowledge sharing, and engineering best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and direction that enables sound technology decisions, maintainable and reliable solutions, and sustainable delivery practices.
- Develop organizational capabilities in Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Automate, while enabling the evolution toward intelligent automation and AI-enabled solutions.
- Drive delivery excellence through effective planning, execution, risk management, dependency management, and continuous improvement practices.
- Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to align capacity, commitments, and priorities in support of business objectives.
- Ensure operational stability and effective L3 support capabilities while balancing near-term delivery objectives with long-term organizational capability development.
- Build strong partnerships across business, product, architecture, agile, and support teams to drive alignment, remove barriers, champion organizational improvements, and strengthen engineering maturity and business value.
Requirements
~1 min read- 5+ years of engineering leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success developing technical leaders and building high-performing engineering organizations.
- Experience leading teams responsible for enterprise automation, workflow automation, low-code/no-code, or software engineering solutions.
- Proven experience leading teams delivering Microsoft Power Platform solutions, particularly Power Automate, with sufficient technical depth to guide engineering decisions and coach technical leaders.
- Proven experience driving engineering excellence through standards, quality practices, and continuous improvement.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies, software development lifecycle practices, and modern engineering principles.
- Experience with Automation Anywhere or comparable enterprise automation platforms.
- Experience with intelligent automation, AI-enabled automation, or emerging automation technologies.
- Experience leading automation modernization, workflow transformation, or digital transformation initiatives within enterprise environments.
