Omnia Training | St. Albert, AB

Omnia Training is seeking a hands-on, industry-experienced instructor to deliver our Residential Construction Training Program, a fast-paced, jobsite-simulated training designed to prepare participants for immediate employment in the construction industry.
This program is built around real employer expectations — not classroom theory — and requires an instructor who can lead with confidence, structure, and strong trade experience.
If you are a retired construction professional, tradesperson, or handyman who still has the passion to teach, mentor, and give back to the next generation, this role may be a great fit for you. We are looking for someone who enjoys coaching others, sharing real-world knowledge, and helping individuals build confidence and skills to succeed on the job site.

About the Role
You will deliver a 5-week, full-time program (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday) in a simulated jobsite environment where students learn:
•    General labour fundamentals and safety systems
•    Concrete and site preparation basics
•    Introductory plumbing and electrical awareness
•    Roofing, siding, and residential construction workflows
•    Capstone structure build integrating all skills
You will be responsible for ensuring students operate at real jobsite standards, including pace, safety, teamwork, and professionalism.

What We’re Looking For
We are specifically looking for an instructor with multi-trade residential experience, including:
•    Carpentry
•    Concrete / site work experience
•    Plumbing knowledge and experience
•    Electrical knowledge and experience
•    Experience working on residential construction projects

Key Responsibilities
•    Deliver daily hands-on instruction and demonstrations
•    Lead toolbox talks, FLHAs, and safety systems daily
•    Supervise and coach students in real-time on tools, techniques, and productivity
•    Enforce jobsite expectations (attendance, engagement, no phone policy)
•    Guide students through structured projects
•    Assess student performance and provide feedback
•    Maintain a safe, organized, and professional training environment

Ideal Candidate
•    Strong background in residential construction
•    Comfortable teaching carpentry, plumbing and electrical
•    Previous mentoring, foreman, or supervisory experience preferred
•    Strong communication and leadership skills
•    Able to enforce structure, expectations, and accountability
•    Safety-focused with knowledge of OH&S practices
•    Passion for developing entry-level workers into job-ready candidates

Why Work with Omnia Training
•    Train in a real jobsite simulation environment, not a classroom
•    Be part of a program directly connected to employer hiring pipelines
•    Help address Alberta’s skilled labour shortage
•    Work with a team that delivers 98% employment success outcomes
•    Make a direct impact on participants entering the trades
•    Salary based on experience
