Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade. \r\n**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies** \r\n

Nature of Work

This\r\nis advanced professional casework in the Youth Facility Family Court. Employees\r\nin this class are responsible for screening and supervising delinquent youth\r\ncoming under the jurisdiction of the Court. Established methods are used to\r\nrehabilitate delinquent youth and to equip them as useful members of the\r\ncommunity. Work is usually received in the form of cases assigned by the Court;\r\nemployees have considerable latitude in planning treatment of cases. Employees\r\nmay act as lead workers for new employees, interns, or volunteers as assigned. Supervision\r\nis received from the Chief Probation Officer and Juvenile Probation Supervisor\r\nthrough conferences and reviews of results obtained.\r\n

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's\r\ndegree in a behavioral science field such as sociology, psychology, law\r\nenforcement, criminal justice, corrections, counseling, or social work and at\r\nleast five (5) years of experience as a Juvenile Probation Officer \r\nNOTE:�Qualifying\r\neducation, training, and experience that provide the requisite knowledge,\r\nskills, and abilities to perform the job will be considered.\r\n
