K-12 Substitute Teacher

Overview

As a substitute teacher, you are responsible for providing instruction and managing classroom environments in the absence of the regular teacher.

Responsibilities

• To provide as closely as possible the same successful instructional and learning environment that would exist if the regularly appointed teacher were in attendance
• Establish and maintain efficient classroom management procedures and standards of student behavior
• Communicate in a friendly and positive manner towards parents, students, and administrators
• Ensure the safety of students at all times
• Maintain established routines/schedules and procedures of the school and classroom to which the substitute is assigned
• Leaves notes or complete a Substitute Teacher Report Form for the regular teacher at the end of the teaching day
• Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned by principal.

Requirements

• Teaching experience required
• Associate degree or higher, preferred
• Punctuality and dependability
• Flexibility in the job assignment
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior

Note that the specific duties and responsibilities of a substitute teacher may vary depending on the grade level. Some substitute teachers may be hired on a short-term basis for specific subjects or grade levels, while others may be assigned to multiple classes throughout the day.

All MC Prep Faculty and Staff must be in agreement with and abiding by the Cultural Elements and Leadership Standards of the school.       

Hours

School hours 7:45am - 3:45pm. Substitute hours will vary depending on their assignment.
