POSITION DUTIES

A Commitment\r\nRecords Specialist Supervisor is the supervisory level of work establishing and\r\nmaintaining commitment records files and resolving problems in the calculation\r\nof Incarcerated Individual’s commitment, jail, and prison sentences. Employees\r\nin this classification ensure compliance with State laws, court orders and the\r\nregulations and policies of the Department of Public Safety and Correctional\r\nServices. Employees interact with the public, Incarcerated Individual attorneys\r\nand officials to provide information and resolve concerns. Employees in this\r\nclassification supervise lower-level Commitment Records Specialists.\r\n�\r\nEmployees in\r\nthis classification receive general supervision from a Commitment Records\r\nSpecialist Manager, a Warden or Assistant Warden or other designated\r\nheadquarters staff. The work may be performed in a correctional facility\r\nenvironment.\r\n�\r\nEmployees are\r\nsubject to call-in 24 hours a day and may be required to work on evenings,\r\nweekends and holidays.\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet all\r\nminimum qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people\r\neligible for hire. Please read all requirements before applying.\r\nEducation: Graduation\r\nfrom an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency\r\ncertificate.\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience: Three years of experience in\r\nreviewing, verifying, and interpreting information in order to make\r\ndeterminations and resolve problems involving the calculation of prison\r\nsentences in accordance with applicable laws, and the regulations and policies\r\nof the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. One year of this\r\nexperience must be in leading the work of Commitment Records staff.\r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to\r\napplicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear\r\nand specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n 3 to 5 years of\r\n Experience making informed work decisions in accordance with court policies and\r\n legal regulations across Circuit and District Courts to prepare judiciary\r\n paperwork, including commitments and releases utilizing MDEC and OCMS.\r\n 3 to 5 years as a law\r\n clerk working in the State or Federal Circuit or District Court.\r\n\r\n\r\n

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this classification are subject to call-in 24 hours a day and may be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where the employee can be reached. \r\n
