POSITION DUTIES

To provide assistance to the Director of Security Operations in data analyst of Contraband and�Incidents To provide assistance to the Field with OCMS (Offender Case management System),�analyzing data entered into OCMS, which is needed for State data. Reviewing Serious Incident�Reports for accurate data as well as Use of Force packets sent to the Director of Security Operations.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n- To provide assistance to the field with OCMS\r\n- Analyzing data entered into OCMS, which is needed for State Stat data\r\n- Provide data entry assistance to Security Operations Unit�\r\n- Provide daily monitoring of OCMS entries for all DPSCS Facilities\r\n- Ensuring all Serious Incidents are entered into OCMS.\r\n- Reviewing Serious Incident Reports for accurate data as well as Use of\r\n- Force packets sent to the Director of Security Operations�\r\n- Assist and conduct training for newly promoted supervisors�\r\n- Conduct monthly audits to ensure that facilities are following the policy�and sending accurate paperwork to Security Operations\r\n\r\n- Responds immediately to emergencies, ensuring that the appropriate level of\r\nforce is carried out.\r\n\r\n- Conducts adequate inspections and institutional rounds and thorough\r\n- Searches so that disturbances, safety and health deficiencies and regulation\r\nand policy violations are minimized.\r\n-Maintains appropriate records and produces reports, correspondence and other\r\ndocuments that are accurate, timely and written in standard business language\r\nand format.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:�� High School diploma or high school equivalency�certificate acceptable to the Maryland State Board of Education as described in the Correctional Training Commission regulation.\r\nExperience: Two years of experience supervising the work of Correctional Officers in the custody and security of adult inmates.\r\nNotes: \r\n1. The above educational requirement is set by the Correctional Training Commission in accordance with Correctional Services Article, Section 8-209. \r\n2. Candidates may substitute additional education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of sixty credit hours for one year of the required experience provided that a minimum of 15 credit hours are in the field of criminal justice or related social sciences.\r\n3. Candidates may substitute equivalent State experience in other classifications within the correctional field which involve daily contact with and custody of inmates for the required experience. Qualifying experience must be in a classification where the salary is comparable to Correctional Officer Lieutenant.\r\n4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in correctional classifications or correctional specialty codes in the criminal justice field of work equivalent to a Correctional Officer Lieutenant on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r\n

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland. \r\n2. Employees in this classification may be required to operate large vans for transportation of inmates. Employees assigned these duties will be required to acquire a Class C Maryland driver's license. \r\n

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate must be fluent in spoken and written English. The ideal candidate must effectively and respectfully communicate with diverse populations, providing services to individuals with different beliefs, behaviors, and interpersonal styles in confinement or community settings. Professional working fluency in Spanish, Mandarin, Korean, or any other language is a plus.\r\n
