Main Purpose of Job

This position supports the LTSSMaryland DDA Provider Billing Support Office (PBSO). This position will learn to analyze Medicaid health care data to support Medicaid policies and programs.\r\nThis position will learn how to prepare reports, conduct research and analysis relevant to LTSSMaryland providers, and address high priority projects. This includes the evaluation, analysis, research and development of health care services and policies within MDH. This position will learn to perform duties such as researching and evaluating policies, analyzing LTSSMaryland system requirements, coordinating service compliance projects, processing of provider authorizations and payments, and communicating with internal and external MDH stakeholders.\r\nThis position processes certain billing activities, learns to evaluate internal workflow, learns how to monitor program integrity and reporting, performs data analysis with a focus on administrative support and the processing of provider adjustments, exceptions, and billing.\r\n\r\n\r\nSpecific focus for this position will be to support the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) and Non-EVV service billing for various Medicaid Home and Community-Based waivers including programs operated by the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) and other administrations as necessary. The individual in this position will be required to learn and understand waiver service billing requirements, learn Person Centered Plan and/or Plan of Service structure, and communicate with program staff in order to address billing and policy issues.\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:��� A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.\r\nExperience: One year of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.\r\nNote:�Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public�Health, Public Policy or closely related field from an�accredited college or university for the required experience.\r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The preferred candidate should possess:\r\n\r\n\r\n Experience in Google Suites, Microsoft Office, power BI, MMIS Maryland, LTSSMaryland.\r\n Experience in the HCBS waiver.\r\n Experience collecting and interpreting data.\r\n\r\n\r\n

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland. \r\n

BENEFITS

\r\nContractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.\r\nLeave may be granted to a contractual employee at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.\r\n\r\n
