Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to protect and promote the health of individuals and families in the community by providing outreach and eligibility determination services for the Maryland Children’s Health Program (MCHP) in an accurate, professional and timely manner, thereby enabling children and pregnant women access to health care. This position will assist clients with the application and eligibility process through the Maryland Health Connection, complete case documentation and verification activities, respond to client inquiries, and refer individuals to additional community resources and support services as appropriate.\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:� �Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.\r\n\r\nExperience: Six months of clerical experience applying policies in a medical care, health insurance or federal or State entitlement program.\r\n\r\n-OR-�\r\n\r\nSix months of general clerical or administrative experience in one more of the following: data entry and record keeping, intake and interviewing, responding to inquiries, explaining information, writing correspondence, maintaining policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, and completing general clerical tasks.�\r\n\r\nNotes:�\r\n\r\n�1. Candidates may substitute additional general clerical experience on a year-for-year basis for the required education.�\r\n\r\n�2. Candidates may substitute thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.\r\n\r\n\r\n
