Role Overview

Join MeDirect's Operational Risk team and play a key role in shaping the future of risk management within a fast-growing, digital-first bank. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious risk professional to work at the forefront of operational risk, operational resilience, DORA, AI governance, and emerging technologies, helping to strengthen and evolve the Bank's risk framework while partnering with stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) across business functions
• Maintain and operate the incident management framework
• Investigate operational risk events and ICT-related incidents, ensuring robust root cause analysis and lessons learned reviews
• Monitor and challenge the timely implementation of remediation and control improvement actions.
• Support the ongoing development of the Bank's DORA framework, including ICT risk, incident management, resilience testing and third-party risk oversight
• Contribute to the Bank's AI governance framework and support compliance with AI-related regulatory requirements
• Identify opportunities to leverage automation, data analytics and AI-enabled agents to enhance risk monitoring, reporting and control effectiveness
• Develop and maintain risk reporting, key risk indicators and management information for senior management and governance forums
• Partner closely with stakeholders across all business, technology and support functions to promote a strong risk culture and effective risk management practices

Requirements & Qualifications 

• Proven experience in Operational Risk or a related discipline within financial services
• Strong knowledge of Operational Risk Management, RCSAs, incident management, root cause analysis and control testing
• Good understanding of DORA, ICT risk management and operational resilience requirements
• Exposure to AI governance, AI risk management or emerging technology risks is a definitive advantage
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organisation
• Demonstrated interest in innovation, automation and the use of technology to improve risk management outcomes. A fintech background is advantageous
• Relevant degree and/or professional risk, audit, technology or resilience qualifications would be considered an asset
