We are seeking a Principal Equipment Engineer - Test Systems to lead the industrialization of end of line manufacturing test capability for complex precision electromechanical assemblies, evolving an existing prototype into a qualified, scalable and production ready system.

This role will own the manufacturing test system solution from requirements and measurement architecture through hardware/software integration, characterization and qualification in the engineering lab and pilot line, followed by transfer, replication and deployment into Manufacturing. The focus is production test equipment and measurement capability rather than product verification and validation testing.

The role will be based at the Mervue Campus in Galway, Ireland.

Come for a job, stay for a career!
  • Own end-to-end industrialization of the end-of-line manufacturing test system, from lab prototype and pilot-line deployment through qualified Manufacturing release and replication
  • Define test-system requirements, measurement architecture, test methods, equipment specifications, interfaces and objective acceptance criteria
  • Lead integration of fixtures, load systems, sensors, instrumentation, electrical hardware, motion control, data acquisition and test software across the lab, pilot line and final production environment.
  • Drive system development, debugging, characterization and qualification, including calibration, measurement uncertainty, MSA/Gauge R&R, correlation and capability.
  • Engineer the solution to meet cycle-time, throughput, availability, maintainability, robustness, traceability, replication and capacity requirements.
  • Lead technical integration across Test Software, Product Design, Systems, Process Engineering, AME, Quality, Operations and external equipment partners.
  • Lead transfer and correlation into Manufacturing, defining replication, service, spares, calibration, documentation, training and lifecycle-support strategies for sustainable serial production.
  • Drive Design for Testability and manufacturing-test strategy for future products and variants, ensuring production test needs are considered early in development.
