We are seeking a Special Education Teacher join our team in State College, PA.

• →The primary goal of the Teacher is to provide specialized instruction in an individualized program for students to empower them to become happy, confident, and productive members of their community.
• →Design, supervise and implement students’ IEP plans.
• →Create and coordinate student schedules with related services and general education.
• →Collect and analyze student data and monitor student progress.
• →Effectively working with a large team of professionals needs to coordinate services.
• →Participate in several staff development training courses that focus on working with students with Autism.
• →Implement state of the art strategies to work effectively with students with Autism.

• Teacher to student ratio never to exceed 1:8 in ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) classrooms
• Teacher to student ratio never to exceed 1:12 in ES (Emotional Support) classrooms

• Teachers working at a Merakey School are required to have a Bachelor's degree in Special education, or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 18 credits in special education and 6 credits in education theory.
• Must possess a Pennsylvania Special Education certificate; or a Pennsylvania Private Academic certification with ability to attain public certification within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire will be considered.
• Experience working with students with autism or emotional support is required; this can include student teaching.
