About the Role
~1 min readThe Occupational Therapy department at WMH offers a supportive environment that promotes a culture of learning and development, with various opportunities for career progression. The friendly WMH OT teams consists of 31 dedicated clinicians who currently provide client centered, occupational therapy services within the emergency department, short stay unit, acute, subacute, Hospital in the Home/Gem@Home, community (Health Independence Program and Commonwealth Home support Program) and outpatient hand therapy services.
- The HITH/Gem@Home AH team provides short term rehabilitation to appropriate clients in their home.
- The HITH /Gem@Home AH team is a team of OT, Physio, SW, Dietetics and Allied Health Assistants.
- The HITH/Gem@Home OT has strong links to the acute inpatient OT team, with an established professional supervision structure in place.
- The Grade 2 Occupational Therapist provides quality, evidence based, person-centred care as part of a multidisciplinary care team to the allocated caseload.
- This position provides clinical support to Grade 1 staff and assistance with the day-to-day operations within the designated area.
- This position contributes to service development and leadership within the inpatient OT service.
- Supervision is provided by a Grade 3 occupational therapist, and the role includes appropriate supervision opportunities.
