Minneola Healthcare, a Critical Access Hospital committed to providing high-quality healthcare services to our community, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Tech to join our team. PCTs play a crucial role in the delivery of patient care and ensuring the well-being of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide assistance with mobility and transfers, ensuring patient safety.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Observe and report any changes in a patient's condition to the nursing staff.
- Support for Nursing Staff:
- Collaborate with registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs) to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of medical equipment and supplies.
- Keep patient rooms clean, organized, and well-maintained.
- Communication and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, addressing their concerns and providing emotional support.
- Infection Control:
- Follow strict infection control procedures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
- Adhere to hospital policies and guidelines for personal protective equipment (PPE) use.
- Safety and Emergency Response:
- Be prepared to respond to emergencies and assist in evacuations if necessary.
- Promote a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Professional Development:
- Stay up to date with the latest CPCT best practices.
- Comply with all hospital policies and regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of Kansas.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification is required. If not certified, Minneola Healthcare can assist in obtaining certification.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a caring, empathetic nature.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Understanding of patient privacy and confidentiality.
Working Conditions:
- Shift work, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.
- Exposure to infectious diseases and potential physical demands associated with patient care.
- Availability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
