MEDICAL ASSISTANT (MA) - Hermitage- Full Time

SUMMARY

Provides medical assistant services to the patients and families, assists physicians and mid-level practitioners with patient care. 

To Perform all clinical functions in a physician's office.  To include but not limited to:   Assisting the physician with treatments, obtain specimens from patients and process properly, maintaining medical information and filing/scanning, maintaining sample supplies, ordering and maintaining clinical supplies as needed, patient education, obtaining histories and vitals from patients, triage patient calls, prescription refills, call backs for normal or abnormal results as per physician direction, prior authorization as needed, telephone ansering and appointment scheduling as needed.

JOB DUTIES:

Prepares patient for provider visits according to approved policies and procedures, i.e. reason for visit, history (past medical, family and social), symptoms, problems, weight, height, vital signs, medications and allergies.

Administer medications to patient as ordered by physician

Notifies patients of lab and test results.

Collects specimens and performs limited lab tests

Performs tests as ordered by physician.

Responsible for equipment safety.

Maintains inventory drug samples and inventory and rotates stock.

Assures documentation in the medical record is complete and accurate.

Maintains exam rooms and workstations.

Schedules test,

Performs venipunctures and ekg as ordered by providres.

Maintains medical information and filing and scanning.
