The RAICES Program Coordinator will provide gender-specific services to youth who are at risk. The RAICES Program Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and management of school groups. Will provide supervision to the Youth Engagement Counselors by checking in and supporting group facilitation as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and evaluate gender-specific workshops, recreation and enrichment activities of the on-site and off-site RAICES program in accordance with contract regulations.
  • Contact schools to coordinate groups for each cohort (Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer Internship)
  • Prepare and submit accurate reports as required by program, including monthly program reports to funding sources (DCYF) and the collection of evaluation and demographic data (surveys).
  • Develop curriculum on gender specific topics such as healthy relationships, self-advocacy, hygiene, bullying, and others related to the DCYF contact.
  • Supervise, evaluate and provide leadership development to Youth Engagement Counselors, Youth Interns, and volunteers involved in the RAICES program.
  • Plan and implement project-based learning and experiential outings and activities to enhance youth learning and skill development.
  • Plan outreach and resource events for the community, youth, schools, etc as part of the contract requirement.
  • Ensure that all contact requirements are implemented, documented, and met.
  • Support a program environment that is learner centered promotes a sense of physical and emotional safety.
  • Support positive relationships between staff and youth, and between youth and their peers.
  • Conduct case consultations and check-ins with the Youth Engagement counselors.
  • Provide resources to youth, schools, families, community, and Youth Engagement Counselors.
  • Communicate with school, community, public agencies and parents/guardians of youth.
  • Supervise, evaluate and provide leadership development to youth interns and volunteers involved in the program.
  • Ensure all youth completed the intake forms and communicate with youth families to complete.
  • Utilize HUBB software to keep track of all youth’s profiles.
  • Ensure Youth Engagement Counselors are completing incident reports on HUBB when youth disclose anything that would be reportable and is required to document.
  • Provide individual follow-up services and information and referrals to youth as needed and to other MNC youth services and community services.
  • Coordinates, schedules, and handles all logistical details of the weekly check ins and group coordination.
  • Review CMS data and prepare monthly program reports.
  • Develops and oversees outreach plan to recruit target population into case RAICES program.

  • Monitors school advocacy efforts including school meetings such as parent conferences, IEP meetings, school disciplinary meetings, as necessary.
  • Attending meetings with the Associate Director.
  • Support the hiring process, selecting, interviewing, and filling out forms required to hire new employees in the department. Also, assist with the onboarding/offboarding of Youth Engagement Counselors.
  • Supporting other MNC Programs as needed.
  • Collaborate in the planning and production of community events including Dia de los Muertos, Holiday/Winter break, Black History month, Carnival SF, Spring break, family nights, program graduations and showcase, etc.
  • Recruit in kind service providers to implement gender specific activities, cultural enrichment, health and wellness, youth leadership, and other enrichment activities within the program.
  • Create partnerships with other organizations.
  • Advocate for youth needs, providing referral information, when appropriate to internal and external services based on individual youth needs. Provide individual follow-up services to clients as needed.
  • Collaborate with community to coordinate services.
  • Represent MNC at appropriate community forums and funder meetings/trainings; maintain superior customer service with funders, staff, collaborating agencies, parents, and youth. Adequately inform, share information, and collaborate with anyone benefiting from the RAICES program.
  • Maintain accurate program records and follow reporting procedures. Compile, analyze, verify, and submit data according to the funding schedule and guidelines.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings, 1:1 supervision, and as training courses are offered.
  • Ensure team is completing all training, progress reports, and required documentation for program.
  • Actively participate in the creation and implementation of a personal staff development plan striving for self-improvement.
  • Must be available to participate in late afternoon, evening, and some weekend activities as needed (including Memorial Day Weekend, during school breaks, and MNC events).
  • Ensuring that the curriculum, orders, and any required document is updated and completed.
  • Collaborate with program staff to identify individual needs and create proactive strategies that foster social-emotional growth and success.
  • Provide case consultations and support to staff, ensuring holistic and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Maintain accurate program records and submit data in accordance with funding and reporting requirements.
  • Attend required team meetings (weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly). Coordinate services with other MNC programs and community partners to ensure smooth referrals and continuity of care.
  • Assist with planning and participating in MNC-sponsored community and cultural events.
  • Supporting other MNC Programs as needed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Provide fair and equitable support to all clients regardless of their situation.
  • Always represent the organization in a professional manner.
  • Maintain personal safety, use personal protection equipment (PPE), and follow Agency policies.
  • Report all and any safety issues, accidents, or injuries to your manager as a matter of priority.
  • Promotes the health and safety of participants and follows safety and emergency procedures.
  • Ability to interact positively with team members.
  • Ability to facilitate positive change.
  • Partner with a supervisor when necessary to address department issues or concerns.

Requirements

  • Current CA Driver’s License, current auto insurance, and a clean driving record.
  • Fingerprinting Clearance (DOJ/FBI) and Clearance Child Abuse Index
  • Current Physical Health Screening (every 2 years thereafter)
  • Current CPR & First Aid Certificate (every 2 years thereafter)
  • Current Immunizations (TB) (every 2 years thereafter)

BA degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field, with a current official transcript on file plus at least 2 years of Coordinating Experience; or AS in a related field with at least 3 years of Coordinating Experience; or 6 years of Coordinating and Direct Service Experience.

Required 2+ years’ work experience facilitating groups and working with high-risk youth ages 9-24 and successful experience in developing curriculum and creating and implementing youth programs.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to sit approximately 50% of the time, walk 30% of the time and stand 20% of the time. The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to type or handle, feel, and operate objects. The employee is required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to speak and listen. Specific vision abilities of this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
