Operations Technician

Duties and Responsibilities

Monitor and Control Feed Mill Operations:

• Monitor and oversee day-to-day operations within the feed mill.
• Utilize control systems to regulate and optimize various stages of the production process.
• Ensure production parameters are within specified limits to meet quality and quantity standards.

Machinery Operation and Adjustment:

• Operate and adjust feed mill machinery to achieve production goals.
• Monitor equipment performance and make real-time adjustments to maintain efficiency.
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams for necessary repairs and improvements.
• Participate in machinery maintenance and repairs as assigned during routine operations and maintenance periods.

Routine Inspections and Troubleshooting:

• Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot operational issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks and communicate any abnormalities to relevant teams.

Safety and Quality Standards:

• Follow established safety protocols and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in safety training and contribute to a culture of safety within the operations team.

Collaboration with Team Members:

• Collaborate with other team members to optimize feed mill processes.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, including operators, maintenance personnel, and management.
• Contribute insights and suggestions for continuous improvement initiatives.
• Any other duties assigned by the Operations Manager or his designate.

Requirements:

Previous Experience:

• Proven experience in manufacturing, feed mill operations or a similar industrial setting.
• Familiarity with the specific processes and challenges of operating machinery in a feed mill.

Knowledge of Production Processes and Machinery:

• Understanding of feed production processes, including mixing, grinding, pelleting, and packaging.
• Knowledge of various types of feed mill machinery and their functions.

Attention to Detail:

• Meticulous attention to detail in monitoring and adjusting machinery.
• Ability to identify subtle changes in equipment performance and take corrective actions.

Ability to Work in a Team:

• Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Willingness to cross-train and support other team members as needed.

Strong Communication Skills:

• Clear and concise communication skills to convey information to team members and management.
• Ability to report issues, provide updates, and contribute to team discussions.
