About the Role
A leading aerospace, defence and nuclear precision manufacturer is hiring a Manufacturing Manager to lead CNC machining operations at its advanced manufacturing facility in the Greater Toronto Area. This is a new role created by growth, with a clear path to Business Unit Manager. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Manufacturing Manager owns the day to day and strategic operations of the machining floor, driving on time, quality first delivery while building and developing a high performing team.
What You Will Lead and Deliver
Direct all aspects of production scheduling to ensure timely, quality driven delivery to customers. Oversee staffing and workforce planning, shift schedules, and skills deployment. Use data driven insights to evaluate departmental performance and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with quality, engineering, and production control to align priorities and clear bottlenecks. Champion training and development, maintaining a robust skills matrix and onboarding program. Lead continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives with measurable outcomes. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Drive a culture of engagement, coaching, and accountability.
What You Bring
12 to 15 years of manufacturing experience (minimum 10), with both hands on machining and a mechanical engineering background. Strong CNC machining knowledge (mill turn and lathe); able to read drawings and troubleshoot parts on the floor. Proven leadership of shop floor teams, with training programs and accountability. Strong computer skills including Excel, ERP systems, and presentations to leadership. Quality systems exposure (AS9100, ISO 9001, or NADCAP) an asset. Green or black belt in continuous improvement preferred. Ambitious, energetic, hands on, and comfortable moving between engineers and machinists.
Additional Details
On site in the Greater Toronto Area, full time, with an early start for the daily production meeting. Controlled Goods Program (CGP) eligibility required; criminal and credit checks apply. Base salary 120,000 to 140,000 CAD plus performance bonus and a strong benefits package from day one.
