Our client is a Canadian advanced engineering company hiring a Propulsion Systems Engineer for a confidential program focused on design, development and testing of complex propulsion and fluid-based systems. Onsite in the Greater Toronto Area. Hands-on environment.


The Role
Own the complete lifecycle of combustion devices and related propulsion hardware from concept through integration and operations. Spans design, analysis, test, production support, supplier coordination and potential leadership of junior engineers and technicians. Reports to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the complete design lifecycle of combustion devices from concept to integration.
  • Define and track requirements for the product.
  • Development, modeling, validation and verification of the product and subcomponents per GD&T and internal standards.
  • Production support: collaborate with vendors and suppliers, guide manufacturing processes.
  • Design and execute test campaigns including qualification and acceptance testing.
  • Manage budget and schedule for the product.
  • Mentor junior team members and lead design reviews.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Aerospace, Mechanical or closely related engineering; Master's in propulsion or combustion is an asset.
  • 5+ years hands-on in high-pressure propulsion or related combustion / fluids hardware.
  • Ownership of design, analysis and delivery of combustion devices or subcomponents (injectors, chambers, nozzles, valves, manifolds, feed systems).
  • Strong fluid dynamics, heat transfer, combustion and structural mechanics for high-pressure, high-temperature hardware.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD and GD&T-compliant drawings.
  • FEA, CFD or analytical modeling for structural, thermal and fluid performance.
  • Test campaign planning and execution: instrumentation, procedures, safety and data review.
  • High-pressure cryogenic systems and ground support equipment.
  • Manufacturing experience for precision hardware (machining, welding, additive manufacturing, surface treatments).
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and pressure vessel and piping codes.
  • Strong communicator and mentor in fast-paced or startup environments.
