We are seeking a highly capable Performance Video Editor / Motion Designer to produce conversion-focused video and motion advertising for a portfolio of ecommerce brands.
The primary responsibility of this role is short-form video editing and motion design for paid social. You will create video advertisements primarily for Meta and TikTok, translating strategic briefs, hooks, messaging, raw footage, product assets and brand guidelines into polished creative designed to stop the scroll and support customer acquisition.
This is not a general brand-film or organic content role. We need someone who understands that performance video must do more than look good. Every edit should land a clear hook, present the product effectively, and support a meaningful creative-testing objective.
Advanced AI proficiency is critical. AI should already be embedded in your day-to-day editing and motion workflow. You should be able to generate, enhance, extend and refine footage, voiceover, motion elements and assets using current AI production tools while maintaining a high professional standard.
The final creative should not appear obviously AI-generated. Product details, people, text, lighting, hands, motion, lip sync, scale and perspective must remain credible and consistent. AI should improve production speed and creative possibilities without lowering trust or quality.
Static design experience is valuable but not required. We would welcome someone who can also produce static ads to a high standard, but video and motion will remain the primary basis for evaluating candidates.
You will work across multiple ecommerce accounts with different audiences, products, offers and visual identities. You will also contribute to the agency’s own paid and organic social presence.
The team is small and moves quickly. You will be expected to take ownership of your output, identify weaknesses in a brief, communicate honestly, and deliver creative that supports performance rather than simply satisfying aesthetic preferences.

Build edits around customer problems, product benefits, reviews, proof, comparisons, education, promotions and offers.
Use pacing, cuts, captions, b-roll, sound design and on-screen text intentionally.

Make the central message and intended action clear within the first few seconds.
Translate product features into visually understandable customer benefits.
Design edits for different levels of customer awareness.
Prioritize clarity and persuasion over unnecessary effects.
Understand that an attractive video is not automatically an effective advertisement.
Review each brief critically before editing begins.
Identify the intended audience, hook, product benefit, offer, format and testing objective.
Recognize missing footage, unclear messaging, weak assumptions or execution risks.
Ask focused questions when information is genuinely required, and fill reasonable gaps independently when the objective is clear.
Challenge a brief respectfully when there is a strong creative or performance-based reason.
Understand the hypothesis behind each assigned creative test.
Produce controlled variations that isolate specific hooks, messages, visuals or offers.
Review available performance data, including hook rate, hold rate, click-through rate, conversion rate, customer-acquisition cost and return on ad spend.
Identify patterns in pacing, hooks, length, format, proof or product prominence that contribute to stronger performance.
Recommend practical iterations based on what the team is learning.
Complete revisions accurately within the team’s one-iteration discipline.
Produce video and motion creative across multiple ecommerce client accounts.
Learn each client’s products, customers, positioning, visual language and brand requirements.
Move effectively between fashion, beauty, wellness and other consumer categories.
Avoid applying the same templates or editing formulas across every account.
Organize footage, project files, versions and final exports by client.
Contribute video and motion creative to the agency’s paid and organic social presence.
Translate internal insights, case studies, services and points of view into effective video content.
Maintain a level of quality that accurately represents the agency’s client work.
Work within a two-sprint-per-week production rhythm.
Treat fast turnaround as a normal part of performance creative.
Maintain quality and accuracy under time-sensitive conditions.
Raise blockers before they affect delivery, and take ownership of assigned creative through final approval.
Work closely with creative strategists, media buyers, designers, account stakeholders and leadership.
Communicate clearly about ideas, questions, deadlines and risks.
Give and receive candid feedback professionally, and push back respectfully when a brief appears incomplete or ineffective.
Operate effectively within a small, fast-moving, low-bureaucracy environment.
Review all creative for spelling, grammar, product accuracy, pricing, offers, claims, logos and calls to action.
Confirm that products, packaging and labels remain accurate in AI-assisted footage.
Check for mirrored or flipped footage, artifacts, distortions and implausible details.
Mix audio to platform standards (around -14 LUFS for Meta), with no silent tracks and no clipping.
Close videos with a clear end card, logo or call to action where the brief requires it.
Confirm that assets meet the required dimensions, lengths, formats and export specifications.
Maintain clean, organized project files with clear naming and version control.
Complete a final self-review before submitting work.
Support occasional static ad assignments when capable.
Pull strong frames and moments from video into static executions.
Collaborate with the Performance Creative Designer when static production is required.
Treat static design as a complementary capability rather than the primary responsibility of the role.
