As members of the post-sales team in the Services organization, Field Engineers focus on the operation and maintenance of communications and video surveillance systems. Utilizing Motorola's broad portfolio, the team works within established SLAs to ensure consistent service for our clientele.
Key responsibilities include the upkeep of a comprehensive video surveillance network, which encompasses fixed cameras, support infrastructure, transport networks, and virtual machines. This position necessitates proficiency in video storage solutions and a thorough understanding of standard industry protocols.
Furthermore, the role involves managing a voice communications network, requiring technical expertise in RF. The engineer must be capable of diagnosing power stage defects, addressing RF interference, and calibrating passive components like cavity combiners or filters.
Key Responsibilities
Provide local support to the customer (in some cases 24/7 on call Service support)
Escalate and follow up on factory incidents
HF component fault detection
Participate in a call-out rotation
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation with focus on trend analysis and documentation of results.
Perform site inspections and functional checks
Operate and troubleshoot remote sites infrastructure
Capacity upgrades/downgrades systems assets
Coordinate with subcontractors for supplemental support
Maintain the installation of the system in compliance with Motorola R56 Standard and Guideline
Provides technical support and consultations for / with the System Integration Centers and clarification of technical issues with the Customer, third parties and within Motorola Solutions.
Requirements
~1 min readEngineering Degree (Telecommunications, Electrical, or Electronics).
5+ years of experience in telecommunications, IT, or fixed video systems
English Level: B1 or above
Basic OS administration (Windows/Linux)
Knowledge on Server Management (ESXi, Vsphere)
Knowledge on Networking
Familiarity with fixed video platforms and VMS (RSTP, RTMP, SRT)
Technical knowledge of RF, HF, LMR (P25/TETRA/DMR), microwave systems, or AC/DC power.
