The Magnet Program Director (MPD) is responsible for the implementation, maintenance and enculturation of plans and strategies to ensure that the Magnet ® Recognition Program (MRP) data bases are maintained, validated and reported including nurse sensitive indicators, the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI), core measures, patient satisfaction, RN Engagement and other metrics to demonstrate and surpass benchmarks and goals for clinical and professional development outcomes. The MPD interfaces directly with the Directors of Nursing for Research and Innovation, Professional Development/Education, Professional Practice, the Senior Director of Nursing for Quality and the Hospital Quality Department, Inter-professional & Support Departments, Administrators, Medical and Clinical Staff, overseeing administrative and daily operations of performance improvement, clinical intervention compliance and the MRP

Responsibilities

The MPD develops and implements organizational strategies and infrastructure to support clinical quality, operational effectiveness and shared governance as essential components of the MRP.

Provides education and consultation to internal and external constituents regarding the MRP. Under the direction of the CNO, and in collaboration with the VPs of Nursing Clinical Operations, the DONs and Interdisciplinary teams, coordinates the ANCC Magnet® application, designation and re-designation process.

Ensures that data is disseminated throughout the nursing organization, and assists nursing staff to interpret and use data to improve care or resolve identified problems
→
Serve as the MPD coordinating the committee structure and collaborating on the processes necessary for the ongoing preparation of MRP reporting and documentation requirements.

Collaborate with the Directors Professional Practice, Professional Development/Education, Quality, Center for Nursing Research and Innovation and the Clinical Directors to create, plan, coordinate and enculturate the Department of Nursing efforts in patient safety, quality and performance improvement, and aligned with the MRP.

Provides education and consultation to internal and external constituents regarding ANCC MRP management activities and outcomes.

Ensures that data is disseminated throughout the nursing organization, and assists nursing and staff to interpret and use data to meet and exceed the ANCC MRP requirements.

Cultivate productive working relationship across all hospital departments.
→
Develops and implements the use of an institutional set of nursing sensitive outcome indicators aligned with the ANCC MRP to monitor and improve care
→
Coordinates the data to support the Model Components of the ANCC MRP
→
Ensures outcomes are progressing to the level of Magnet recognition.
→
Contribute to the Nursing Strategic Plan related to retaining MRP designation

Requirements

Master’s in Nursing/Health related field is required, Doctoral degree preferred.

Progressive job-related experience in quality and ANCC MRP

Certification in Related Professional Development/Executive Leadership required.

The salary range for the role is $166,400.00 - $239,200.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
