Per-Diem Massage Therapist-KP8 Amenity Unit-Mount Sinai Hospital-Day

The Massage Therapist provides specialized therapeutic massage and relaxation techniques to postpartum patients on KP8 as assigned. This includes family and professional caregivers and hospital personnel referred by massage program coordinator and/or other clinical team members/ colleagues.

1. Provides support and comfort to patients, family members and caregivers through 
   therapeutic massage, relaxation and self-care techniques. 
2. Provides opportunities to teach about massage therapy and its therapeutic benefits, 
   through hands-on work and didactic education. 
3. Participates in documenting session data specific to the massage therapy provided.  
4. Assists with regular staff self-care and chair massage sessions. 
5. Communicates with staff regarding referrals. 
6. Maintains current knowledge of field through continued education and self-study. 
7. Performs other related duties  

• Graduate of an accredited Massage Therapy School program 
• Three years of experience/practice 
• Massage Therapy License, NY State Board of Education 
• Proof of Liability Insurance
• This role requires advanced training in pre- and perinatal massage
