Details of Research Project:

Dr. Jian Jin’s lab is a leader in discovering selective inhibitors of protein methyltransferases (PMTs), biased ligands of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), and small-molecule degraders of oncoproteins and stabilizers of tumor suppressors, as well as in developing innovative technologies for advancing the targeted protein degradation (TPD), targeted protein stabilization (TPS), and targeted protein acetylation (TPA) fields. This chemical biology and drug discovery project will involve design, synthesis, and testing of new compounds to develop novel therapeutics for treating various human diseases including cancer as well as development of new technologies to advance the research fields described above.

Technical Duties:

The main responsibilities include: (1) design and synthesize molecules of interest; (2) perform analyses to confirm the identity and purity of the synthesized products; (3) test the synthesized compounds in biochemical and cellular assays, (4) analyze data and prepare reports for review with Dr. Jian Jin and other lab members; (5) document all work according to standard procedures; (6) prepare or contribute to publications and grant applications; (7) prepare and present materials at seminars and meetings; (8) comply with all safety rules; and (9) maintain the lab equipment related to the research.
