Research Program Director, Adult Chronic and Acute Leukemia Program - Tisch Cancer Center

The Research Program Director provides strategic, operational, and administrative leadership for the Adult Chronic and Acute Leukemia Program. In partnership with faculty leadership, the Director oversees program operations, business planning, financial stewardship, research administration, educational initiatives, faculty support, and cross-functional collaborations that advance the program's clinical, academic, and research mission. The Director is responsible for managing complex departmental initiatives, optimizing operational performance, supporting program growth, fostering internal and external partnerships, and ensuring the successful execution of institutional priorities through effective resource management, process improvement, and organizational leadership.

• Provides strategic, operational, and administrative leadership for the Adult Chronic and Acute Leukemia Program by collaborating with faculty, institutional departments, and external partners to advance the program's clinical, academic, research, and educational mission in alignment with departmental and institutional priorities.
• Oversees program operations, including budget planning, financial management, resource allocation, grant administration, and stewardship of philanthropic funds in collaboration with institutional leadership and the Development Office.
• Participates in the fundraising efforts for new or revised programs, either through proposal preparation (contract and/or grant process), donor solicitations, inter-departmental collaborations, or other fundraising processes. 
• Directs the planning, coordination, and execution of educational and scientific programs, including workshops, tumor boards, research symposia, annual retreats, and other faculty and trainee development initiatives.
• Manages complex projects and cross-functional initiatives by establishing priorities, coordinating stakeholders, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely achievement of program objectives.
• Supports faculty, trainees, and research personnel through coordination of academic activities, recruitment efforts, manuscript and presentation development, and other initiatives that promote faculty development and scholarly productivity.
• Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with internal departments, pharmaceutical partners, funding organizations, and patient advocacy groups to advance program initiatives and strategic partnerships.
• Establishes operational policies, workflows, and quality improvement initiatives that promote efficiency, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement across program activities.
• Provides administrative oversight of personnel activities, including participation in recruitment, onboarding, performance management, professional development, and staff engagement.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
   

• Bachelors degree, Masters strongly preferred, in sciences or related degree
• 7 years experience in a hospital/medical environment
• 3 years supervisory experience
