- Partner with the Department of Surgery’s Division of Education and General Surgery Residency Program Director on strategic planning, program development, and operational initiatives.
- Supervise Education Office personnel, establish performance goals, conduct evaluations, and provide coaching and professional development. Delegate responsibilities and ensure efficient workflow management across the Education Office.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices that support educational excellence and accreditation compliance.
- Lead special projects and process improvement initiatives related to resident education and program operations.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), institutional, state, and specialty board requirements.
- Manage Annual Program Evaluation (APE), Program Evaluation Committee (PEC), Clinical Competency Committee (CCC), and accreditation site visits.
- Oversee resident duty hours, evaluations, milestones, case logs, scholarly activity, and required documentation.
- Prepare accreditation reports, surveys, data analyses, and institutional submissions.
- Direct all aspects of resident recruitment through ERAS, Thalamus and the NRMP Match.
- Develop annual recruitment strategies and oversee applicant communications, interview scheduling, and ranking processes.
- Coordinate virtual and in-person interview days, second-look visits, recruitment events, and resident activities.
- Manage recruitment activities occurring during early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required during interview season.
- Oversee onboarding, orientation, promotion, graduation, credentialing, and offboarding activities.
- Advise residents regarding institutional policies, leave administration, wellness resources, licensing, and training requirements.
- Coordinate remediation processes and maintain confidential resident records.
- Oversee complex rotation schedules across multiple hospitals and surgical services.
- Maintain educational databases, evaluation systems, and residency management software.
- Generate reports and performance metrics for program leadership and institutional stakeholders.
- Develop and monitor residency program budgets.
- Manage expenditures related to recruitment, educational activities, travel, graduation, and resident wellness initiatives.
- Coordinate contracts, vendor relationships, and educational resources.
- High School Diploma/GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred
- 5 years directly related experience
