Salary: €44 – 54k, commensurate with experience

At Trinity Development & Alumni (TDA), our mission is to advance the education and research goals of Trinity College Dublin through the power of philanthropy and engagement. Through creative and inspiring regular giving and legacy giving programmes, we connect alumni and supporters who want to make a difference and help Trinity transform lives through education and research. We are now recruiting a Direct Marketing and Telephone Campaigns Officer to deliver our telephone campaign programme and play a key role in growing this culture of giving. 


As the Direct Marketing and Telephone Campaigns Officer, you will be responsible for the delivery of TDA’s annual telephone campaigns working with agencies and internal stakeholders. Reporting to the Direct Marketing Manager, you will also provide support for the delivery of direct mail campaigns to acquire, retain and steward donors from Trinity’s community of alumni and friends.  

 

We're seeking an organised and motivated professional with experience in direct marketing, fundraising or a related discipline, strong communication and analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders. Experience in higher education, the charity sector or another customer-focused environment would be advantageous, but we are also open to candidates who can demonstrate transferable skills in campaign delivery, data management and relationship management. 


Key Responsibilities  


The responsibilities specified below are not intended to be exclusive or restrictive and flexibility in the allocation of specific duties will be required.  


  • Development and delivery of TDA’s global telephone campaign programme to acquire and retain regular giving donors and recruit and upgrade legacy donors. 
  • Manage recruitment and retention of students callers for telephone campaigns. 
  • Support delivery of regular giving, mid-level and legacy appeals.
  • Support development and delivery of donor stewardship tools such as giving circles, impact reports and bespoke communications for regular giving, mid-level and legacy audiences. 
  • Work with the Direct Marketing Manager to build internal relationships across Trinity to collect appeal content, beneficiary case studies and reporting that demonstrates the impact of philanthropy across the University and maintain a central repository for appeal content.
  • Undertake data analytics, reporting, data management, and data compliance working with the Business Intelligence and IT Systems Support team.
  • Efficient management of telephone campaign and stewardship budget with a clear focus in maximising ROI across donor recruitment activities.
  • Undertake other duties as may be assigned from time to time by your line manager.

 

Person Specification - Qualifications and Experience   


Required: 

  • A minimum of four years' experience working in a direct marketing, fundraising or related role. 
  • Experience working with bespoke databases/customer relationship management systems.  
  • IT literate and experience of using Microsoft Office. 


Desirable:  

  • A third-level qualification and/or professional qualification in fundraising, marketing or direct marketing.  
  • Experience in the Higher Education (HE) sector.  
  • Experience developing and delivering direct mail and multi-channel approaches for donor acquisition, donor care, upgrades, cash to direct debit conversion, and legacy giving. 
  • Experience in developing and delivering telephone campaigns.  
  • Understanding of the direct mail development process, including liaising with third-party agencies, print and fulfilment houses. 


Skills and Knowledge  

  • Ability to demonstrate strong organisational, planning and analytical skills as well as ownership of campaign delivery and performance.  
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with an eye for detail.
  • Diligent and organised with experience managing multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with demonstrable ability to build good relationships with colleagues and other stakeholders (internal and external to the University).
  • Motivated, innovative and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of philanthropy and charitable giving, preferably in Higher Education or a comparable fundraising environment.  


Key Relationships 

You will be expected to engage proactively with a wide range of stakeholders, including TDA colleagues, academics and Trinity personnel, and external stakeholders of the University.  

 

Role Requirements   

This is a hybrid role that requires regular on-campus presence in line with our Smart Working Policy. The number of days on campus will be agreed with your line manager and subject to ongoing review.
