Job Description
The Construction Quality Control Manager (QCM) at Arctic Peak plays a critical role in supporting general contractor oversight across construction, civil, and demolition operations on federally regulated projects. The role requires strong quality assurance expertise, including proficiency in quality systems, inspection methodologies, and corrective action processes. The QCM must demonstrate comprehensive regulatory and code knowledge, including DOE and DoD requirements, OSHA, NFPA, IBC, EPA, and other safety and environmental standards. Success in this position demands technical construction competency related to civil, structural, and demolition activities, combined with strong document control and reporting abilities to ensure full compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
This position requires strong risk identification and mitigation capabilities, enabling the QCM to identify hazards, procedural deviations, and compliance gaps while implementing effective solutions. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills are essential, as the QCM regularly coordinates with engineers, subcontractors, government representatives, and Arctic Peak leadership. Analytical problem‑solving abilities support effective evaluation of construction challenges and the development of practical solutions. Leadership and oversight skills are vital for enforcing standards and driving quality initiatives, while detail orientation ensures precision in inspections, documentation, and compliance tracking. Adaptability is key, as the QCM must respond effectively to changing project conditions, regulatory updates, and emergent issues in the field.
Responsibilities
Provide quality oversight in support of Arctic Peak’s general contractor responsibilities, ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, standards, and contractual requirements.
Develop, implement, and enforce quality standards, inspection procedures, and controlled work instructions.
Establish and maintain a formal document control system for procedures, records, controlled documents, and nonconformance reporting.
Identify, document, and resolve non‑compliant procedures or practices; lead corrective action development and verification.
Perform inspections and audits related to civil construction (earthwork, grading, utilities, concrete, structural modifications) and demolition operations (hazardous materials, sequencing, waste handling).
Ensure compliance with DOE Orders, DoD requirements, NFPA, IBC, OSHA, EPA, and local permitting regulations.
Update quality procedures and SOPs as project conditions or regulatory requirements evolve.
Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure adherence to Arctic Peak’s quality expectations and SOW requirements.
Manage and submit Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) items accurately and on schedule.
Track quality performance metrics, document compliance trends, and maintain corrective action logs.
Lead customer satisfaction feedback processes and implement improvements based on findings.
Serve as SME for quality assurance, regulatory compliance, document control, and demolition safety.
Provide after‑hours on‑call support for quality‑related project needs.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
