Instructor-Fixed Term

Instructional responsibilities include teaching ENT 110 - Applied Entomology of Economic Plants (3 credits) for the Institute of Agriculture Technology during fall semester 2025 and subsequent fall semesters. There are two positions open. One at Montcalm Community College in Sidney, MI and one at Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek MI. ENT 110 contact hours will be 1- hour lecture, recitation or discussion per week and 2 hours of lab per week (3 hours of total contact time per week) for 15 weeks of instruction.

The course will provide students with a basic understanding of Entomology. Topics that will be covered are:

• Introduction to field diagnostics
• Basic insect biology and anatomy
• Basic Entomology/making and insect collection
• Injury symptoms on plants
• Insect classification and orders
• Intergrated Pest Management
• Pesticides and pesticide safety
• Commercial Pesticide Applicator Certification
• Beneficial insects
• Insect Ecology

Position is planned to recur every Fall Semester

Masters -Entomology

Doctorate -Entomology

• Master Degree in Entomology required
• Experience in the field of Entomology
• Knowledge and skills to develop and teach resources in Entomology
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ph.D. in Entomology preferred
• Experience in development and assessment of learning outcomes
• Undergraduate teaching experience and a passion for teaching

• A letter of application
