Position Summary
This position will assist the Safety Department in all matters of safety and risk management within the company’s scope, under the supervision of the Director of Safety. The scope may include office staff, company drivers, the service department, construction sites, fabrication shops, etc. and other areas as assigned.

Essential Functions

• Develop and provide safety training for employees on policies, regulations, and procedures
• Recommend, warn and advise employees all levels of hazards and appropriate corrective measures
• Conduct thorough accident investigations and find root causes
• Must be able to understand and interpret federal, state and local safety and health regulations
• Visit job sites and conduct inspections frequently
• Identify trends from leading and lagging indicators
• Support company employees with various safety initiatives
• Promote and build the company’s safety culture
• Travel to various company work sites in all weather conditions as needed
• May be required to be stationed at a job site for an extended period of time
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Safety or related field and/or 2 years of experience in the safety field supporting a safety program
• Ability to manage and/or monitor multiple projects and activities occurring simultaneously
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite of Programs and Internet applications
• Be willing to obtain training to become more job knowledgeable
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong presentation and coaching skills
• Ability to work with and build positive relationships with employees
• Must be able to drive to locations within PA and other surrounding states (mileage reimbursed)
