Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Provides high quality, evidence-based, efficient, customer-focused medical nutrition therapy, including nutrition screening, assessment, care planning and education for appropriate nutrition intervention.
- →Recommends and helps manage specialized nutrition support for patients when appropriate.
- →Communicates and coordinates with physician and other health care personnel as needed on the nutrition care plan of the patients.
- →Evaluates the need for medical nutrition therapy education and develops a plan based on learning needs and evaluates the effectiveness of the education process. Includes family or others in the process as identified necessary.
- →Evaluates the effectiveness and measures progress towards outcomes of medical nutrition therapy interventions. Reassesses nutrition care process and implements changes as indicated.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or a related field from an accredited college or university
- Washington State (DOH) Dietitian Certification required.
- Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics)
- Minimum Two (2) years clinical dietetics experience preferred
- Outpatient medical nutrition therapy experience preferred
- Board Certification in Oncology preferred
