GNC Hardware Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)

Summer internships will range between the months of May and September depending on university schedules. Internship is full-time and on-site in Mountain View, CA.

The Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineering team at Muon is responsible for all GNC on the spacecraft, ranging from sensor and actuator selection to system-level pointing analysis and even writing GNC flight software! Hardware-focused interns can look forward to owning a project from start to finish which will involve developing a new testing capability for a GNC component. Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a new or existing test capability
• Design, improve, and automate test setups and ground support equipment
• Conduct analysis to support both development and testing phases
• Engage in testing and measurement activities in the lab, either on the bench or within a clean room environment

• Classwork in mechanical or aerospace engineering or applied physics
• Basic programming skills
• Experience with hardware/software integration, mechatronics projects, etc
• Interest in spacecraft attitude sensors and actuators

This position requires access to export controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must either be (A) a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, (B) eligible to access the export controlled information without a required export authorization, or (C) eligible and reasonably likely to obtain the required export authorization from the applicable U.S. government agency. The Company may, for legitimate business reasons, decline to pursue any export licensing process.

• Previous internship or co-op experience 
• Previous experience on technical project teams (i.e. Rocket club, formula SAE, solar car, etc.)
