Process Controller

The Process Controller is responsible for monitoring and controlling bulk sampling plant operations from the control room to ensure safe, efficient and continuous processing of diamond-bearing material. The role involves monitoring plant performance, controlling operating parameters, identifying process deviations and ensuring optimal plant throughput and diamond recovery in accordance with operational, safety and security standards.

• →Monitor and control bulk sampling plant operations from the control room to ensure optimal plant performance.
• →Operate and monitor plant control systems, instrumentation, screens, conveyors, pumps and other processing equipment.
• →Monitor critical operating parameters, including feed rates, material flow, water levels, pressure and plant throughput.
• →Monitor the processing circuit and identify operational abnormalities, process deviations and potential equipment failures.
• →Adjust plant operating parameters within authorized limits to maintain efficient processing.
• →Coordinate plant start-up, shutdown and operational changeovers.
• →Monitor diamond recovery processes and ensure strict compliance with diamond security and material handling procedures.
• →Maintain accurate records of production volumes, plant performance, downtime and operational incidents.
• →Prepare shift reports and communicate operational issues during shift handovers.
• →Liaise with plant operators, maintenance teams and supervisors to address operational challenges.
• →Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and operational procedures.
• →Identify opportunities to improve plant efficiency, minimize downtime and optimize processing performance.

Diploma in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy, Mining Engineering or a related technical field.

• Minimum 2–3 years' experience in mineral processing or plant operations.
• Experience in a diamond processing or bulk sampling plant will be an added advantage.
• Experience operating or monitoring control room systems in a processing plant.

• Knowledge of mineral processing and diamond recovery operations.
• Understanding of plant control systems and process monitoring.
• Ability to interpret plant operating parameters and identify process deviations.
• Knowledge of plant equipment and operational procedures.
• Computer literacy and production reporting skills.
