Natural Habitat Adventures (Nat Hab), a nature-focused global adventure travel company based in Boulder, Colorado, is seeking a Senior Field Operations Manager to join the Adventure Operations Team, the department that coordinates all logistics behind Nat Hab’s global slate of trips. This role is primarily responsible for overseeing and managing all field operations within the US National Parks portfolio to ensure trips run smoothly, safely, and effectively from planning through execution and wrap-up.
This is a full-time, exempt position and allows for a hybrid schedule. Responsibilities
The Senior Field Operations Manager oversees field operations within the US National Parks portfolio, ensuring trips operate safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Nat Hab standards from planning through post-season wrap-up. This role serves as a key operational leader supporting field teams, logistics coordination, training initiatives, and real-time operational problem solving.
Team Leadership & Training
- Manage and support regional Field Operations Staff and Fleet Operations.
- Partner with operational and field leadership teams in staffing, hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Identify field team training needs and collaborate on the development and facilitation of seasonal training programs.
- Foster a positive, solution-focused team culture through clear communication, mentorship, and leadership.
Operations & Logistics
- Oversee pre-season operational planning, including staffing schedules, vehicle movements, housing logistics, equipment coordination, and trip readiness.
- Ensure Field Teams receive accurate operational information, trip updates, and logistical support throughout the season.
- Partner with Trip Owners, Operation Coordinators, Field Operations Coordinators, and Lead Expedition Leaders to ensure operational accuracy across itineraries, schedules, Ops Packs, and field communications.
- Coordinate emergency response, contingency planning, and operational problem solving during active trips.
- Provide field-based operational support as needed, including the ability to step into in-field support roles on short notice to ensure successful trip execution.
Communication & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain strong working relationships with field teams, vendors, partners, and cross-functional departments.
- Support vendor communication, operational feedback processes, and ongoing program improvements throughout the season.
- Review invoices, oversee seasonal wrap-up logistics, and lead post-season debriefs to improve future operations.
Skills & Qualifications
- Highly skilled in field operations, logistics, and data management within dynamic, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Proven success leading multiple project teams through technological and process improvements while facilitating best practice sharing across departments.
- Extensive experience overseeing all aspects of Field Staff training, including planning, facilitation, budgeting, and post-training evaluation.
- Strong ability to identify field team training needs, develop annual training plans and budgets, and present recommendations to Expedition Leader development teams and Regional Heads.
- Demonstrated leadership (7+ years preferred) managing geographically dispersed teams, including hiring, mentoring, scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a consistent solution-focused approach in fast-paced and high-pressure environments.
- Experience coordinating staffing, transportation, housing, equipment logistics, vendor partnerships, and operational support throughout full program lifecycles.
- Financial and administrative experience including budget support, invoice review, expense tracking, and operational reporting.
- Adaptable and resilient leadership with the ability to support field teams remotely and in person while managing evolving operational challenges and priorities.
Compensation
Starting salary range: $83,000-85,000, plus annual bonus.
Compensation commensurate with experience. (Per Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act; employers must include compensation ranges in job postings). This is a full-time exempt position.

Location & Travel
This position offers a hybrid schedule based out of Louisville, Colorado; Bozeman, Montana; Jackson, Wyoming. Regular in-person attendance at the designated home office location is expected based on operational needs. While residing in or near Louisville, CO the person would be expected to be in the Boulder office a minimum of 50% of their time.
This position requires frequent travel and active participation in field operations, approximately six to eight weeks of travel annually to support field operations, trainings, and program execution. Flexibility to work outside traditional business hours, including evenings and weekends, is required. Team members must be able to provide last-minute in-field support as needed, including guiding and field operations support to ensure successful trip execution. This location and travel policy is subject to change at the company’s discretion.
Working Hours
Nat Hab operates a 24/7 global adventure travel business, and this role reflects that reality. While standard company office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM MT, and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM for select members of our guest-facing teams, this position primarily supports field teams operating around the clock in active travel environments. As such, the responsibilities of this role regularly extend beyond traditional business hours to ensure successful trip execution, provide operational support, and respond to time-sensitive field needs as they arise. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and outside standard office hours is an essential component of the position.
The company also holds one annual all-staff week that requires attendance, as well as a second in-office week scheduled by your department.
