The National Life Group Internship Program was developed to provide real workplace learning and growth opportunities for undergraduate students. Over the years the program has provided students with the opportunity to engage in meaningful, career-relevant work at National Life Group in preparation for full-time employment.

This position currently offers an onsite work schedule, with the expectation that you are in the office four (4) days per week during onsite core days.  Our current onsite core days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  The work schedule type and core days are subject to change with advance notification and manager discretion. 

Responsibilities

National Life Group is seeking a detail-oriented and technically curious Web Production Intern to join our Digital Marketing team. This role will support the Web and Digital Experience team with recurring website updates in Sitecore, including banner changes, approved text and image updates, document replacements, link corrections and other lower-complexity production work.

The Web Production Intern will contribute to active website requests while gaining hands-on experience with enterprise content management, web quality assurance, accessibility and digital workflow practices. The role will also complete basic HTML and CSS adjustments within established templates and components, helping the team deliver accurate and consistent updates across the website.

The ideal candidate has working knowledge of HTML and CSS, strong attention to detail, an interest in web production and digital experience, and the ability to follow defined requirements and quality

  • 10-week paid internship (June 1 - August 6) with formal orientation and onboarding

Base Pay Range.  The base pay range for this position is the range National Life reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors, including: prior experience and job-related knowledge; education, training and certificates; current business needs; and market factors.  The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances.

Additional Compensation and Benefits. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in National Life’s discretionary annual incentive programs, subject to the rules governing such programs. If hired, the employee will be in an "at-will position" and National Life reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

  • Update, replace and remove website banners based on approved requests.
  • Make approved text, image and link changes within existing pages and components.
  • Replace documents and correct broken or outdated links.
  • Complete basic HTML and CSS adjustments within established templates and patterns.
  • Correct headings, page titles, metadata and content formatting as directed.
  • Maintain consistency with National Life Group brand, content and web standards.
  • Review updated pages on desktop and mobile to confirm content, layout and responsive behavior.
  • Check links, document downloads, images, headings and formatting before work moves to review.
  • Apply basic web accessibility practices, including clear heading structure, useful link text, image alternative text and readable content formatting.
  • Compare completed work with approved requirements and document any issues that need additional support.
  • Complete clearly defined assignments managed through Workfront.
  • Maintain accurate task status, progress updates and completion notes so work remains visible to the team.
  • Communicate missing information, questions or blockers promptly.
  • Follow established review and publishing processes. All work will be reviewed before it is published.
  • Use approved copy and assets. The role will not make compliance decisions, create unapproved copy, complete complex development or build new Sitecore components.
  • Work with the Web and Digital Experience team to understand requirements and complete website updates accurately.
  • Partner with content owners, designers, marketers and subject matter experts when additional context is needed.
  • Participate in team working sessions, page reviews and quality assurance activities.
  • Support routine production requests while learning how web governance, accessibility and regulated content review shape digital work.

 

Requirements

  • Current college student pursuing a degree in Web Design or Development, Computer Science, Information Systems, Digital Media, Marketing Technology, Communications or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Experience with a content management system; Sitecore experience is helpful but not required.
  • Basic understanding of responsive design and web accessibility.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, high-quality work.
  • Ability to follow established requirements, processes and review standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, responsive and comfortable managing multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Ability to take direction and feedback and apply it consistently.
  • Curiosity about digital experience, content operations and enterprise web platforms.
