Job responsibilities include the following:
• Responsible for training regarding in-house office procedures for new staff
• Handles end of day closing processes for the regional center
• Knowledge of the programs and operations of the division that are essential to appropriately route
visitors and callers
• Responsible for logistics and taking minutes associated with meetings
The Division of Services for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing (DSDHH) assures equal access to

Recruitment Range: $31,200 - $41,000

~2 min readTo qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.
An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:
- The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date)
- The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency
- DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.

- Exceptional customer service and communication skills, including proficiency with TTY and video phone technologies to support accessible interactions.
- Knowledge of programs and services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, with familiarity in the Division of Services for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing and its statewide initiatives.
- Experience working with individuals with varying degrees of hearing loss, demonstrating respectful engagement and a foundational understanding of communication needs; basic sign language skills are preferred, with a commitment to learning if not already acquired.
- Strong administrative and office management abilities, including maintaining equipment and supplies, processing mail, managing filing systems, and coordinating appointments and meetings.
- Skilled in professional documentation and event support, such as preparing agendas, taking meeting minutes, creating calendars and flyers, drafting correspondence, and generating reports.
This position will close at 11:59 p.m. the night before the end date.
