This position supervises the Social Work Supervisor and the Staff Psychologist. This position meets weekly with the Clinical Team to review current residents, concerns, and plan any necessary changes to treatment. Additionally, this position works directly with the treatment team, conducting monthly meetings for each resident.

- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to evaluate potential inpatients and provide care to hospitalized psychiatric patients, as credentialed by the Medical Staff.
- Considerable knowledge of inpatient psychiatry, knowledge of the theories and general practices of medicine.
- Thorough knowledge of biological, social and psychological developmental process at all ages; a sound identity with and training in medicine and psychiatry; demonstrated clinical abilities.
- The ability to work on an interdisciplinary team and integrate care is essential.
- Board Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry preferred.
To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.
Whitaker Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) is an 18-bed secure residential treatment facility operated by the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services. As part of the Child and Family Services Section, it provides residential care, supervision, and educational services for residents, ages 13-17 with complex behavioral, emotional, psychological, and neurological disorders. It also provides community liaison support services for students and families with a staffing complement of 72 full-time clinical, educational, residential, and support positions.
The normal work hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday however flexibility is required to meet facility needs. This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement.
