The primary purpose of Grounds Worker I role is to maintain the grounds, flora, and all associated equipment to ensure a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing campus environment at Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center. The Grounds Worker I will be responsible for routine landscaping, gardening, equipment operation, and general upkeep of outdoor areas. In addition, this position will be responsible for removing snow, ice, leaves and removal of debris from the campus. This role will assist with other areas in Maintenance as needed.

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

  • Demonstrated experience using chainsaws, tractors and implements such as discs, plows, loaders, backhoe and buckets.

  • Demonstrated experience utilizing and maintain ground equipment such as lawn mowers, tractors & spreaders.

This position is designated as Mandatory and Must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center is one of three state operated facilities serving adults with chronic and complex medical conditions that co-exist with neurodevelopmental or neurocognitive disorders often related to a diagnosis of severe and persistent mental illness or intellectual disability. The health and physical status of these residents require 24-hour supervision, daily nursing care, and assistance with activities of daily living.

We are a specialized long-term care facility focusing on maintaining quality of life and dignity for adults with neurocognitive or neurodevelopmental disorders with coexisting complex medical and behavioral needs whose level of support extends beyond that which can be provided in family or community living settings.
