The Health Care Technician II serves as a role model and mentor to other HCT I’s throughout the facility and provides quality care to patients on 1 Oak. The Adolescent Unit is a co-ed, inpatient unit serving individuals from the ages of 12-17. The objective of the adolescent unit is to provide a safe and structured environment for crisis stabilization. As an essential member of a multidisciplinary care team, the HCT II practices therapeutic principles when providing care to the patients they serve. Nursing care is performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.

  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotions and psychosocial needs of the patient population served.

  • Must demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit.

  • Applicants who are former member of either the NC Army National Guard or the NC Air National Guard, with honorable discharge and six years of creditable service, must attach a copy of the DD 256 or NGB 22, along with the state application.

High school or General Educational Development diploma and one year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. As applicable, listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. As applicable, North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
