The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest, most complex agencies in the state, and has approximately 17,000 employees. It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.
The selected candidate must successfully complete the DHHS medication exam and have the ability to independently administer medications & treatments in a timely, accurate manner following the 6 rights. Selected candidates must also successfully become ceritified in CPR & NCVIF.
Salary Range: $41,407.00 - $62,111.00
A Sign-on bonus of $4,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval.

Knowledge of nursing principles & techniques for specific area of practice
Hospital experience or long-term care experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to successfully perform all functions applicable to nursing on the ADA checklist for all nursing positions at JIRDC.
This Position Is Exempt And Is EXEMPT From Certain Provisions Of The State Human Resources Act (GS 126)
This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.
1st shift (7:00 am - 3:30 pm), Monday - Friday and every other weekend
2nd Shift (3:00 pm - 11:30 pm) Monday - Friday and every other weekend
Requirements
