PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To provide direct psychological services within the Adult Admissions Unit. This work includes crisis management, diagnostic evaluations, capacity restoration services, group and individual therapy services, and other treatment services for adults with severe and persistent mental illness who reside in the eastern region of the state.
Salary Range: $66,696- $110,049
*A Sign-on bonus of $15,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval.

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
- Knowledge in essential in core areas of normal and abnormal psychology including perception, motivation, development, learning, the biological bases of behavior, and psychotherapy.
- Knowledge is required of age-appropriate issues for an adult population.
- Skill in the provision of comprehensive psychological evaluations in complex cases using objective and projective measures is essential, as well as advanced skill in providing a wide array of therapeutic interventions for patients with major emotional and behavioral disturbances.
- Knowledge of mental health systems and ability to integrate treatment resources are basic to the position.

Eligibility for licensure in North Carolina under the provisions of the NC Psychology Practice Act (G.S. 90-270) and two years of professional psychological experience, one of which must be postdoctoral. Refer to the law for specifics regarding experience requirements.
