HR Operations Specialist
Quick Summary
Why work at Nebius Nebius is leading a new era in cloud computing to serve the global AI economy.
What We Offer
~1 min readThe HR Operations Specialist owns HR Ops for their location and does so with a high degree of independence. You execute complex lifecycle processes, maintain rigorous data standards, drive local compliance, and actively improve the processes you work with.
Beyond your own delivery, you serve as an informal lead for the location: an escalation point for less experienced colleagues, a reliable partner to HRBPs, business stakeholders, and HR Ops peers across other locations. Employees are supported through the HRBPs; your role is to make sure the HR Ops engine behind that experience runs well. This team works across geographies and functions, and siloed thinking has no place here.
Depending on business need, you may also have the opportunity to lead or contribute to global or team-wide HR Ops initiatives, giving you visibility beyond your location and the chance to shape how the broader team operates.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Own the full employee lifecycle for your location, including complex transactions such as international moves, cross-functional transfers, and sensitive terminations.
- Act as the local escalation point for HR Ops issues, resolving them with sound judgment and minimal need for upward escalation.
- Lead onboarding and offboarding for office and data center personnel, ensuring a consistent and compliant experience.
- Support the onboarding of new HR Ops team members at your location, helping them get up to speed on systems, processes, and ways of working.
- Partner closely with HRBPs, Compensation and Benefits, Payroll, Immigration, and Legal to execute seamlessly across the lifecycle.
- Offer guidance and support to less experienced colleagues on the HR Ops team; help build their capability and confidence.
- Contribute to team-wide playbooks, standards, and process documentation that the broader HR Ops team can use.
- Own data quality and governance for your location in HiBob, setting the standard for accuracy and compliance.
- Identify automation and AI opportunities across HR Ops workflows; lead their implementation in partnership with the People Systems team. A key team priority this year is replacing manual and repetitive processes with smarter, faster solutions, and you are expected to bring ideas and drive adoption in your location.
- Support the rollout of new HRIS modules or system changes, serving as the local operational expert and change champion.
- Ensure all employee files, records, and documentation are complete, accurate, and compliant with local and cross-jurisdictional requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of employment law in your location; proactively flag risks and propose solutions.
- Deploy, maintain, and improve HR Ops policies and employee-facing documentation for your location.
- Support travel program administration via Navan, ensuring policy compliance and a smooth employee experience.
- Support HR Ops for data center employees at your location, understanding the specific onboarding, compliance, and operational requirements of a physical infrastructure environment.
- Coordinate with EHS to ensure HR Ops processes align with site-level safety and compliance requirements, including training tracking and incident documentation.
- Build familiarity with relevant safety standards such as OSHA, ISO 45001, or local equivalents, as they apply to HR Ops on site.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- 3-5 years of progressive HR Operations experience.
- Proficiency with HiBob or equivalent HRIS platforms, including data governance, not just data entry.
- Demonstrated ability to manage HR Ops independently for a location or business unit.
- Solid understanding of local employment law and compliance requirements.
- Experience contributing to automation and process improvement initiatives in an HR Ops context.
- Full professional English fluency, written and verbal; all internal communication, systems, and documentation are in English regardless of location.
- Strong judgment when handling sensitive, confidential, or legally complex situations.
Nice to Have
~1 min read- Experience supporting HR Ops in a data center, manufacturing, or other physical infrastructure environment.
- Working knowledge of EHS requirements and how they intersect with HR Ops, including training compliance, incident documentation, and site-specific onboarding.
- Experience supporting or mentoring less experienced HR Ops team members.
- Multi-country HR Ops experience.
- Ownership: You run your location like it's yours, because operationally, it is.
- Sound judgment: You know when to act independently and when to loop someone in.
- Trusted resource: Colleagues and business partners come to you, and you give them accurate, thoughtful guidance.
- Process-driven: You bring structure to complexity and document what you build so others can use it.
- Improvement instinct: You actively look for better ways to do things and see them through.
- Cross-cultural fluency: You communicate effectively across geographies, disciplines, and organizational levels.
